If you travel on the East Coast in
Australia you have to see the Whitsundays. It is easily one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

1) How to get to the Whitsundays/Accéder aux Whitsundays
With my travelmate we wanted to do something special and booking expensive tours was not an option for us. Guys, camping in Australia is your cheapest way of traveling and by far the most rewarding. Believe me. You will have to pay only $5.50 per person and per night to camp on any island in the Whitsundays. To access the island, you will need to take a taxi-boat. You will enjoy the view, the clear blue water, and the islands around you... If you are lucky, you can even see whales.

Once we arrived, we set up our tent
real quick because we wanted only one thing: appreciating this white
sandy beach. We could not believe how
breathtaking this place was.
During the day you have a lot of
tourists on the beach. However, they leave before it gets dark. You will have the
entire beach for yourself and will enjoy a magical sunset.
Etant en roadtrip avec ma pote, on voulait faire un truc cool et pas cher. La plupart des backpackers choisissent de réserver des tours mais nous, nous n'avons pas opté pour cette solution. On voulait tester autre chose et économiser des sous, on a donc opté pour le camping. Si vous faites comme nous, il vous faudra juste payer 5.50 AUD par personne et par jour et louer le nécessaire pour camper. Il faut prendre un taxi-boat pour accéder à l'île et par la même occasion vous profiterez du paysage, de l'eau turquoise, des autres îles à côté... Si vous avez de la chance, vous verrez même des baleines !
Une fois sur l'île, notre principale occupation a été de profiter de la plage et de son sable blanc (forcément, monter une tente c'est moins excitant que de flâner sur la plage !).
En journée, il y a beaucoup de touristes sur l'île mais à la nuit tombée ce coucher de soleil n'était qu'à nous.
2) Discovering Chance bay beach/Découvrir Chance bay beach Une fois sur l'île, notre principale occupation a été de profiter de la plage et de son sable blanc (forcément, monter une tente c'est moins excitant que de flâner sur la plage !).
En journée, il y a beaucoup de touristes sur l'île mais à la nuit tombée ce coucher de soleil n'était qu'à nous.
In the morning, you will wake up to the sound of the waves...All we had to do was opening our tent to get the beach view.
We decided to walk to the other beach and there, we found the perfect spot to have a great view over the island.Even though the track was a little bit boring, we walked almost all the way with butterflies around us. This was so magical. Chance Bay Beach has crystal clear water and through it,you can actually notice the corail reef. This place will lure you into a state of serenity.
Vous vous réveillerez avec le bruit des vagues (on a connu pire comme réveil). Après ce réveil parfait, on s'est baladées sur l'île en cherchant un point de vue idéal. On s'est ainsi retrouvées à Chance Bay Beach. L'eau y est tellement claire que vous pouvez voir des coraux à travers. Je ne connais aucun endroit plus apaisant que celui-ci.
3) Things to do on the Whitsundays/Activité à faire sur l'île
You can swim or snorkel around. The coral reef is so beautiful and inhabited by colorful little fish. You will see dead coral next to the beach. If you snorkel, please bear in mind that The Great Barrier Reef is in danger, so don't step on coral you could potentially harm yourself.
During the day you have a lot of boats next to the beach so we had to kayak through them. We went to the other side of the island and stayed close to the coastline because of the wind. I just could not believe that I was kayaking in such a place.
Concernant les choses à faire au Whitsundays, vous pouvez nager ou faire du snorkeling. La barrière de corail est tellement belle, vous y verrez plein de petits poissons magnifiques. Attention tout de même ! N'oubliez pas que la Grande barrière de corail est en danger. Il ne faut donc pas marcher sur les coraux (vous pourriez vous faire mal en plus).
En journée, il y a tellement de bateaux sur l'île qu'on a du faire du kayak en se faufilant à travers eux. En plus, il y a eu pas mal de vent donc on a été obligées de rester près des côtes.
At the camping site, we met a
French family. We decided to have an “apéro” on the beach
together and took full advantage of our last sunset. Pure bliss!
The next morning I woke up early and had breakfast on the beach. The sky was still dark and once the sun popped out, you could see the water getting its blue colour back.
I definitely can say that I spent two days in paradise. Staying there was the highlight of my trip on the East Coast and I will never forget what I've experienced.

Sur notre camp, on a rencontré une famille française aussi émerveillée que nous. On a pris l'apéro ensemble pendant le coucher du soleil en bonne et due forme.
Le lendemain du départ, je me suis à nouveau réveillée aux sons des vagues et j'ai pris mon petit déj sur la plage. J'ai vu le jour se lever, la mer prendre sa couleur apaisante et le sable redevenir immaculé...
Bref, cette partie de mon roadtrip était sans aucun doute ma préférée et j'espère que vous l'apprécierez autant que moi !
