Perfect destinations for a first solo trip/Les meilleures destinations pour un premier voyage en solitaire
I would like to encourage young people to go on a solo trip at least once. I do understand that it can sound scary to some of you, so I listed up a few destinations that I would recommend for a first solo trip. The criteria I took into consideration were : safety, friendliness of locals and the possibility to communicate in English.

1.Canada
Canadians are amazing, I just can't think of nicest people than them! They are a bit like Americans in their lifestyle and some places in Canada do look like the US. The country is beautiful and has amazing landscapes! Everyone speaks English even in the French part. I just think that Canada is the perfect destination for your first solo trip. (Low key:I pine for you constantly Montréal!)
2.The Netherlands
I've lived in Holland for 2 years and seriously it's a great country to live in! Dutch people are really nice and so helpful. Once, I didn't have enough coins to pay for the tram ticket and a Dutch lad kindly offered me the balance. Moreover, almost everyone speaks English fluently and those who don't, will do everything to help you out!

3.England
I'm quite obsessed with England, it must be because of the British accent that makes them sound so polite! To be fair, England is a diverse country with a lot to see! From London to Cambridge, you can never go wrong.

4.The USA
The USA is another great country to visit as everyone is so friendly! I'm so amazed by how easily Americans can talk to you without knowing you. Salesmen usually ask you how you doing when you enter their shop (which is unusual for me as I am from France and we definitely don't do that -Much to my disappointment).

5.Belgium
Belgium is a fairly small country so it is perfect if you want to go on a short getaway. Belgians are helpful and most of them can speak English (if you avoid Brussels). Antwerp is amazing and so is Brugges!
Je conseille la Belgique pour un premier petit voyage seul(e). C'est pas très grand et il y a beaucoup de jolies villes à voir. Bruxelles, Anvers, Bruges, vous avez l'embarras du choix!
6.Portugal
Oh Portugal! Did I expect you to be this beautiful?! European cities are more or less similar to me and there is always something that reminds me that I am in Europe but Portugal was so different! I couldn't believe that I was in Europe with such a different cityscape! Moreover Portuguese people are friendly and almost everyone can speak English or French.
