Indonesia is one of the biggest archipelago nations on earth. It is incredibly huge and beautiful (it's where I'm from so I'm biased, but fellow Indonesian lovers know what I'm talking about ;)).
The country is not only rich in terms of natural beauties but also owns one of the most diverse cultures in the entire world: around 1.340 tribes, 546 languages and 17.504 islands.
I firmly think that Indonesia should be on any bucket list and the following pictures will make you pine for it.
L'Indonésie est un pays immense et magnifique (bon c'est mon pays donc je ne suis pas objectif, mais ceux qui y ont été pourront confirmer mes dires). Le pays n'est pas seulement sublime, il a aussi une multitude de cultures : il y a environ 1340 tribus à rencontrer, 546 langues à apprendre et 17.504 îles à découvrir. Oui rien que ça.

Mount Bromo is the place you cannot miss if you plan to visit Java island. You can even do a star gazing night there at night! Before reaching the mountainous part, you will see the infamous Sea of Sand (Lautan Pasir). Those arid black sands will blow your mind away.
This place is also famous for its traditional ceremony of Yadnya Kasada. A sacred tradition where fruits, food and livestock are given to the gods living in the mountain.

The Batak tribes is one of the famous tribes that live around the lake. You can see it with their traditional Batak houses are noted for their distinctive roofs (which curve upwards at each end, as a boat's hull does) and their colorful decor.

The Green Canyon is probably where to have the greatest adventures in Java. The river has beautiful carved rocks along the side with a green color of water flowing underneath you .You can also do a rafting here! Incredible right?
The place was actually found by a French tourist back in 1993. He named it this way because of said the natural green color of the river.

It is called the 'Water Temple' and is located in the heart of Bali. The nature surrounding the temple is amazing! Lake Bratan surely provides visitors a killer view of the mountains.
Moreover, you will see a lot of Balinese ceremonies in this enchanting temple. The place can be too foggy for you to see the view. Therefore, I suggest checking the weather forecast before going there.

But if you don't like reptiles and wildlife adventures this island offers more than that. This is the place where you can just escape from all of the tourist traps and bond with the nature. The island is located in the eastern part of the Indonesian archipelago.

Raja Ampat is the ultimate natural selection to compete with Bora-Bora Island, Fiji or Phuket. This amazing paradise is located in Irian Jaya (the far east island of the Indonesian archipelago). It is one of the most beautiful places in the world in my opinion.
This place is hard to reach but, you can always google "Raja Ampat holiday packages" for further help with organizing your trip.
